It is with a LOT of sadness that I write this blog post today. Our extremely valued agent, Linda Blackburn, has decided to retire. I know what you’re thinking – “How can she??? She can’t retire!!! She’s the best!!!” Linda has been working her tail off for her clients for decades – yes decades (sorry Linda, but it’s true). I guess we can admit that she deserves this retirement. Ok, ok….we’ll admit it, but very reluctantly.
While Linda has been an insurance agent for decades, she has been with our agency for the past 14 years. It was April of 2006 that she made the decision to partner with us and we’re so glad she did! It has been an honor and a privilege to work alongside of her these past 14 years. We have witnessed her care for her clients as if they were her own family. She has spent countless hours explaining the basics of insurance to anyone who would listen. She knew her clients worked very hard to provide for their families, and she didn’t want a single penny wasted on coverage that her clients didn’t need. As important as it was to Linda to save her clients money, it was even more important to her that her clients were protected from any number of disasters that this life can bring. It’s an attitude like that, a love for insurance, and a love for her clients, that made Linda hands-down one of the best in the business. Our agency will miss her terribly and we know that her clients will as well.
All this being said, we know we have some big shoes to fill, and we are ready for the challenge. We have been working as Linda’s support staff over these past 14 years and have, behind the scenes, been getting to know her clients. We very much have the same mindset of Linda – that your money is valuable and should not be wasted on coverage you don’t need, but we also know the value in protecting yourself properly with the right insurance. We pride ourselves in educating our clients so they know what they are buying. Sound familiar?
We were planning on throwing a big party within a few weeks, inviting her clients, and giving Linda a proper send-off. It turns out that the Coronavirus had different plans. Who would have ever thought that a global pandemic would get in the way of bidding Linda farewell? Perhaps it’s a sign that Linda shouldn’t retire yet?? Hey, you can’t blame me for trying!
If you are one of Linda’s clients and have questions for us regarding her retirement, don’t stress! We’ll be sending out a packet of information to each of you shortly with all of the details. In the meantime, if you have ANY questions at all about this transition, Linda’s retirement or just general insurance questions, let us know. Linda, from all of us, we love you, we will miss you terribly and we wish you all the best in this next phase of your life. May it be your best yet!
